Multi-Year Reunion

The Best Is Yet to Come is the theme of the 45th reunion of McCallum High School's Class of 1961, to be held August 25-26 in Austin.  Members of the classes of 1960 and 1962 are also invited to join the partygoers for two nights of nostalgia, dancing and dreaming about the past. Cost is $25 for both nights, which includes:

Can you believe that it has been 45 years since we graduated from high school? Is it possible that we are actually getting old? NEVER! We are only as old as we think we are! So, let’s go back 45 years and enjoy the company of our fellow classmates — the 1961 class of McCallum High School.

Reunion Events

  • Friday, August 25, 2006 you are invited to an informal gathering at Scholz’s Beer Garden, 1607 San Jacinto Boulevard in Austin, Texas from 6-10 pm.  Snacks provided and drinks are left to you.
  • The blast from the past continues

    Saturday, August 26 as our reunion is at Saengerrunde Hall, at Scholz’s Beer Garden from 6pm-10pm for barbeque, dinner and dance. The dress is casual or 50’s. 

 

Registration

The event will be $25.00 per person, and we’d like your registration form as soon as possible so that we can finalize the details of the evening. You will be notified by e-mail or post card when we receive your check. Sorry, but we can’t accept credit cards.

If you cannot attend, please send us your name, address, telephone number and e-mail so that we can make a list of all known 1961 classmates.

Band Gatherings

The MHS Band Alumni of ‘61 are invited to share music, memories, coffee and pastries on Saturday morning from 10:00am until noon at Beth Beasley Kohler’s company, Minco Technology Labs, 1805 Rutherford Lane. Beth has invited Dr. Phillips' daughter Betty and his son  Frank Phillips, Jr. to share some of Dr. Phillips' memories and memorabilia Bring your instruments and be prepared to play “When the Knights Go Marchin’ In.” Spouses are welcome!

Beth has also reserved a private room for lunch (Dutch treat) at Tres Amigos on highway 290 around noon. Band alumni are welcome to join us and can contact Beth at 512/339-9390 or larbeth@sbcglobal.net.
